Have a SUPER sparkly day!!!

Can't believe I'm even typing a post right now. I haven't done this in so long. Way too much has happened to even try to write about the past, so I won't stress myself out! I need to document more about my children, so here it goes. Claire...5 years old and loves anything sparkly, bling-y, tacky :)....she LOVES babies/toddlers/dolls and tries to mother them as her own. LOVING child and can't get enough of me. :) I call her my extra appendage. She grabs my hand, leg, anything she can so she can be touching me at all times. Lip gloss is her best friend along with smelly lotions. If its a skirt, she's wearing it. If its a dress, she's wearing it. If it sparkles, she's wearing it. NO MATTER THE SEASON. :) We love her spunk and pizazz. Allison...10 years old and so wise and smart. Serious about most things. She's preppy and loves animals. American Girl Dolls, skinny jeans and her Sperry's make her smile. Her ipod is her new accessory and she loves face timing friends and her Grandma. Lip bumper and head gear have been added to her face to make her teeth straight and pretty. She's been such a trooper with these. Never complains about either. I love who she is becoming and can't wait for more of her personality as a preteen to emerge! Pics another time...I can't remember how to add them...better post this just in case I don't get back on to my blog for a few more years. Til next time. K

crazy busy

crazy busy...that is my life. work home kids...the list continues! that is why this blog has not been updated in over a year! Lots of things have happened since the last post and I am not going to even try to recap all of our crazy busy lives! :0) Claire is now in her last year of preschool and I just can't believe it! She loves it and can't wait to go each morning. There are never any "I don't want you to leave hugs" she used to give us, which I am grateful for. It just shows me she is growing up and is very comfortable in her new school. Allison is now in third grade! School work keeps us very busy these days...homework has definitely increased and we are all learning time-management around here! Here's to a grand school year and hopefully more blog posts!

Luke Harmon

Yesterday Luke Harmon Norsworthy was born! He weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz. and 19.5 in. long. We love him so much. Kate is such a great Moma and Chris is so gentle and loving. Luke is so lucky to have such wonderful parents who love him so much! Kate says he is sooo cuddly! I agree!!! Great memories were made yesterday!
Life is good.
Allison is truly amazed by him. She wrote all about him in her journal at school today and last night before bed she said she had lots of Luke facts going through her head.
Claire is just excited there is a baby and really doesn't understand the pure miracle that happened! She called herself Uncle Claire, which is typical Claire--not really knowing what she is talking about, but talking a lot!
Cole and I are thrilled to have a nephew and can't wait to watch him and our girls grow up together. How lucky they all are to be so close!
I vow today to make sure they have a wonderful bond and always care for and love each other. Being close to family is so important to all of us. It makes me think of the bond I hold with my cousins on both sides of the family.
Dad of course was with us all yesterday...Kate especially. Hopefully Luke will have his great ability to be calm, emotional, have a GREAT time every day, and make friends where ever he goes. :) Fires will amaze him and the sky will impress him.
Luke will definitely know his Papa is so proud of his Mom and Dad!
We love you Luke!!!! Welcome to the world!

Sew Perfect

Allison learned to sew this past weekend at MeMe and Pop's house. I truly mean she can SEW!!! She even has her very own sewing maching at MeMe's house. Hopefully, MeMe took some pictures!! :)

Check out her weekend projects:

Here is the quilt and pillow she made.

She made the quilt with the help of MeMe on the sewing machine! The pillow was started by MeMe, Allison stuffed it and finished sewing it by hand. Yes, I said BY HAND!!!

When Allison got home, she told us the quilt was made by her, but she was giving it to Claire. How sweet!!!

She made a total of 4 pillows...one for Claire, one for her friend Mackenzie, one for her friend Reagan, and one for herself.

I can't wait to see what she sews next!

Great job, Allison!!! I am sooo proud!

They Try

Last week, Cole went hunting. He left Tuesday and came home Sunday. Yes, 6 DAYS. And not just hunting, but luxury hunting. By this I mean, someone is there to cook all their meals and they have the opportunity to get in a beautiful hot tub if they wish after a long day of hunting.

When he got home, he told me he washed all of his clothes.
My response: What?!?!!? HOW!?!?!?!
His response: Yes. In the washing machine.
My response: Why?
His response: Well, because you have been home with 2 sick kids and I knew the last thing you would want to do was wash more clothes.
My response: Ohhh, that is so sweet!!!!!

REALLY! HOW MANY MEN WOULD GO HUNTING AND COME HOME WITH ALLLL THEIR CLOTHES WASHED?!?!?!

Now, fast forward to today. Cole walks out of the closet with a shirt on that he washed and dried while hunting.

He said: I think I shrunk my shirt.

I will let you be the judge:

Now, I know it is not too short, but it was about 2 inches longer before he went.

So, how did I get the pictures?
I told him I wanted to blog about him washing clothes and his immediate response was: No, I am cooking. Do you have any followers?
And of course I said, No.
:)
So he was a great sport and put on the shirt.

Allison then said: Daddy, how can you shrink a shirt?
Cole said: I have NO idea!

Claire's Big Girl Bed

Claire is now in a big girl bed!!!!! Her first night was Jan. 10th.

When Claire and I went to Wal-Mart Sunday afternoon, there was a crib in her room. When we returned, there was a big girl bed in her room! Thanks to Daddy!!

Nothing new was purchased...just some 'switching' of furniture and bedding.
Allison 'moved up' to a full bed that used to be mine---an antique four poster bed my mom gave us when she moved. Claire got Allison's iron twin bed and bedding--since I just bought a new quilt for Allison's room back in the summer that I LOVE.

Claire's Big Girl Bed

Now that it has been a week, Claire has done pretty well transitioning to her new bed. Of course she has had many reasons NOT to stay in her bed, but that is NOTHING new. She had tons of excuses to stay awake when she was still in her crib.

Claire's Top Ten Reasons to Stay Awake:
10. I hungry.
9. I thirsty.
8. I need to potty...BAD!
7. I need to give Allison a kiss.
6. I need to give Daddy a kiss.
5. I not tired.
4. Mommy, you didn't read me a book!
3. Mommy, will you please read me another book?!
2. I need to give Chesney a hug.
And the #1 Reason to Stay Awake:
1. Mommy, ummm...ummm...ummm... (a.k.a. I am out of reason's but will talk to my mom until she is soooo frustrated, that she gets me out of bed and lets me watch tv with her! Unfortunately, this has worked and she gets to get up. I know, I am not proud of this but I do what works sometimes!)
